| How can someone become involved:
Volunteer: During the state fair the store is run by volunteers so that the museum can use the majority of the profits for year-round operational expenses.
Throughout the year we have opportunities for volunteers to do everything from acting as docents during our hours of operation, to cleaning, to working with the artifacts, to helping to organize events – many talented people are needed both in Indianapolis and in Greenfield to help the initiative succeed in protecting the collection.
Donate: As a 501c3, GMI and the Hook’s Drugstore Museum & Soda Fountain can accept donations from individuals, foundations, companies, etc., and offer our donors the benefit of being able to enjoy a tax deduction for their gift up to the amount allowed by federal law through the IRS.
All levels of donation afford you the benefit of knowing that you are helping to preserve a collection of artifacts that is unique in its scope and has the highest visitation of any like it in the country. Your donation helps to provide educational opportunities to school children and the general public about an important part of Indiana and Pharmaceutical History. You support our goal of keeping the collection intact, in Indiana, and open to the public.
